We are happy to see emergencies and help care for our patients during our normal hours of operation, but there may come a time that you need emergency care while we are not open. 

In case of an emergency, there are several emergency clinics that are either 24 hour facilities or they are open the hours we are closed.  Several options are listed here, but please try to go to the closest facility to make sure you pet is stable and get them the immediate care that they need.

An emergency situation for pets refers to any sudden and serious medical condition that requires immediate veterinary attention to prevent further harm or potential loss of life. Some common examples of pet emergencies include:

  1. Difficulty Breathing: Rapid or labored breathing, choking, or any signs of respiratory distress.

  2. Severe Injury: Significant trauma from accidents, falls, or animal attacks, leading to open wounds, fractures, or bleeding.

  3. Ingestion of Toxic Substances: Swallowing poisonous substances, such as human medications, household chemicals, or toxic plants.

  4. Seizures: If your pet experiences seizures that last longer than a few minutes or occur in succession.

  5. Sudden Collapse: A pet suddenly collapsing or being unable to stand.

  6. Difficulty Urinating: Struggling to urinate or passing blood in the urine.

  7. Heatstroke: Especially in hot weather, overheating can be life-threatening for pets.

  8. Uncontrolled Vomiting or Diarrhea: Continuous vomiting or diarrhea that doesn't subside.

  9. Inability to Deliver Puppies/Kittens: If a pregnant pet is having difficulty during labor.

  10. Eye Injuries: Any injuries or sudden changes in the appearance of the eyes.


If you suspect your pet is experiencing an emergency, do not hesitate to contact us immediately. In cases where the emergency occurs outside of regular business hours, seek assistance from an emergency veterinary clinic or animal hospital. Timely intervention is crucial in ensuring the best possible outcome for your pet's health and well-being.

We do not offer pet insurance through the clinic, but there are many insurance companies that offer insurance directly to you as a pet owner.  We would be happy to provide you with the information and documentation that you need to make your claims for your pets.

Yes, it is recommended to schedule an appointment for your pet to be seen at our veterinary hospital. By scheduling an appointment, we can ensure that your pet receives prompt attention and personalized care from our experienced team.

Exceptions will be made for dogs or cats that are in an emergency situation and need immediate care. Please walk in during our normal business hours if your pet is in an emergency.
